ABOUT
This site features a collection of century-old homes within the Biltmore-Cumberland Historic District of Lakeland, Florida - an extension of the Lake Morton Century Home Project.
PROCESS
Since I have already reviewed the entire district, the process is a little different than for South Lake Morton, East Lake Morton or Dixieland. Typically, a request would go to the district’s Champion to assist with the discovery and validation of a home’s age. The Champion then reaches out to me to provide the independent certification and then I notify them of my findings. For the time being, I am serving both roles for our district. If you are interested in having a marker for your home and believe your home to be 100 or more years old, please contact me at either our Facebook Group or by emailing me directly:

MARKER COSTS
The markers are cast, solid bronze and substantial (8 pounds) and
a lot has already been ordered for production for us:
The marker costs $350 each (this covers casting, shipping and taxes)
Yard Stake, $60 (for homeowners that prefer to not secure the marker to their structure)
Note: This is a not-for-profit operation. Mr. Maguire has fronted the production cost for us to allow for a supply for us to draw on. Homeowners will be asked to reimburse him upon award.
